BigPicture National Conference in Larissa

The conference on elderly care and healthy aging, held on September 24, 2024, at the auditorium of Larissa General Hospital, was successfully completed as part of the project “Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment Skills Education Programme for Nurses – Can You See the Big Picture?”. The event was organized by the Clinical Nursing Laboratory of the University of Thessaly and the Nursing Service of Larissa General Hospital, in collaboration with the Education Office and with the invaluable support of the hospital administration.

In particular, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the hospital’s Director, Mr. Grigorios Vlachakis, the Nursing Service Management, and the Education Office for their critical contribution to the organization of this important event.

The conference brought together a large number of healthcare professionals, who had the opportunity to be informed and exchange views on the latest developments and innovative practices in elderly care. The speakers addressed key topics such as palliative care, infection prevention, fall prevention, and psychological approaches to supporting the elderly.

The collaboration of all the involved parties marks a positive step towards the future. Our aim is to continue this successful partnership with many more similar co-organized events, with the goal of enhancing education and providing high-quality services to our fellow citizens.
