The third transnational meeting of the #BigPicture project
The third transnational meeting of the #BigPicture project was held in Reykjavík, Iceland, on the 19th and 20th of March 2025. The meeting took place in Eirberg, one of the University of Iceland’s buildings, where the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery is located.
Partners from all project countries attended, with a total of 28 participants. The project partners represent the University of Iceland, University of Thessaly, Turku UAS, Åland University of Applied Sciences, LudusXR (Denmark), Nosileia Tora, Riga Stradins University, Tallinn Health Care College, and VARHA – Southwest Finland’s Wellbeing Services County. The project is Co-funded by the Europion Union, by a grant from Erasmus Alliances for Innovation: Alliances for Education and Enterprises.
The main objective of the project is to develop a new nursing education curriculum in Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, which will be offered as continuing and lifelong learning courses, and which can be integrated into university education.
The two highly productive and engaging workdays focused on discussing practical matters, synchronizing efforts, and identifying the most effective path forward for the continued development of the project.
Following the meeting, participants visited Sky Lagoon, where they had the opportunity to recharge in the geothermal spa and strengthen connections with one another.
On the third day, an optional program was offered, where participants met with Jón Grétar Sigurjónsson, Director of Education at the Faculty of Health Sciences, and visited the university’s simulation centre. There, they also had discussions with María Lena Sigurðardóttir, the Simulation Centre Project Manager.
The hosts of the Reykjavík meeting were very pleased with the successful gathering and the positive energy shared among participants.
